Terms and conditions
These terms are an agreement between you and Aseem Chopra, the developer of Today. "I" and "me" mean Aseem Chopra. They cover the Today app for iPhone and this website, and take effect on 2 October 2026. By downloading or using Today you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Who the agreement is with
This agreement is between you and me only, and not with Apple. I, not Apple, am solely responsible for Today and what is in it. Nothing here overrides the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions: where the two disagree, Apple's terms apply.
2. Your licence
I give you a non-transferable licence to use Today on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions permit. Other accounts linked to yours through Apple's family and volume purchasing features may use it too. You may not copy the app except as those rules allow, sell or rent it, or try to take it apart, except where the law gives you that right.
3. Your data and your judgment
What you put into Today is yours. It is kept on your iPhone and in your own iCloud, as the privacy policy describes, and I cannot see it or restore it for you. Keeping a copy is up to you: leave iCloud on, or use the backups and the CSV export in the app.
Today is a tool for keeping track of habits and tasks. It is not a medical device and gives no medical, health or professional advice. A habit linked to Apple Health only reflects a figure Apple Health already holds.
The tools on the AI screen use a language model, and a language model can be wrong. Today shows you what it proposes before anything is saved. Check it before you confirm.
4. Maintenance and support
I am solely responsible for any maintenance and support of Today, as these terms or the law require. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. For help, write to support@trytoday.app.
5. Warranty
I build Today with care, but it is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be without fault or always available, as far as the law allows. If Today fails to meet a warranty that does apply, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, that you paid for it. As far as the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, and any other claim, loss, damage or cost that comes from a failure to meet a warranty is my responsibility, not Apple's.
6. Claims about the app
I, not Apple, am responsible for dealing with any claim you or anyone else has about Today or your use of it. That includes product liability claims, claims that the app does not meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws, including those about HealthKit.
7. Intellectual property
Today, its name, its design and its code belong to me. If anyone claims that Today, or your use of it, infringes their intellectual property rights, I, not Apple, am solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
8. Legal compliance
By using Today you confirm that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that the U.S. Government has designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
9. Other terms that apply to you
When you use Today you must keep to any other terms that apply to you, such as the terms of your mobile data plan and Apple's terms for iCloud.
10. Apple's rights
Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of this agreement. Once you accept these terms, Apple has the right, and is taken to have accepted the right, to enforce them against you as a third party beneficiary.
Limits on what I am liable for
As far as the law allows, I am not liable for lost data or for indirect or consequential loss that comes from using Today. Nothing in these terms takes away a right the law says cannot be taken away.
This website
The pages of this site describe the app as it is on the day they are published. The phone on the home page is a demonstration that runs in your browser, not the app itself.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
